Ecological art at the Petaluma Wetlands
World reknown environmental artist Patricia Johanson is presently creating a design for the Petlauma Wetlands Park next to our new Water Treatment plant on the edge of the Great Petaluma Marsh next to the existing Schollenburger Park.

Patricia is a visionary who brings immense passionate energy to her projects and to the natural systems she interacts with. Her career spans four decades and major exhibitions of her work have been held around the world. She has worked with major artists including Helen Frankenthaler and Georgia O'Keefe and is the recipient of two Guggenheim Awards. She has completed projects in S.F., L.A., Dallas, S. Korea, and the Amazon Rain Forest among others.

Since 1968, Patricia has been creating works that honor nature and the earth, applying her skills as an artist toward solving environmental issues such as sewage treatment and balancing ecosystems. Patricia is a master of weaving together art with science, people with the environment, and practical solutions with visual beauty. She works with engineers, city planners, scientists and citizen groups to create her art as functioning infrastructure for modern cities.
